JUSTIN BIEBER TO RELEASE FEMALE FRAGRANCE

Justin Bieber will release a female fragrance next month.   The scent, titled Someday, will be available on June 20th.   Meanwhile, there is a commercial for the product that is spreading across the Internet.     At just 17, Bieber has already endorsed a range of products including nail polish, pimple cream, and headphones. GAGA DOESN’T LIKE “TELEPHONE”

Lady Gaga has had a ton of hits, but apparently there’s one song that she liked just a little bit less than most of her others.   According to PerezHilton.com, the pop star said that she doesn’t care much for the song “Telephone,” and that it’s the one she has the “most difficult time listening to.”

GAGA BUYS $995 WORTH OF BORN THIS WAY

Lady Gaga is almost certain to sell a bunch of copies of her new album Born This Way, but it seems that the pop star did something earlier in the week in New York City just to ensure that’s the case.   According to the New York Daily News, the pop star bought 995-dollars worth of her album at a Manhattan Best Buy.   She also signed autographs for fans who came out.

GAGA ON LOVE

You can’t go looking for love.   Well, that’s what Lady Gaga thinks anyway.   The pop star told More! magazine that you need to “let love find you,” and that it’s very important to remember that you don’t need a significant other “to be happy.”   Read up on Gaga’s thoughts on love at More.com.

JESSIE J COVERS WHITNEY!

Jessie J performed with a full band on a French TV show called Taratata recently.   During the set, the U-K singer played her debut single, “Price Tag” and she covered Whitney Houston’s “I Wanna Dance With Somebody.”

ADELE’S 21 TOPS THE CHARTS YET AGAIN

It should come as no surprise anymore — Adele is once again at the top if the Billboard 200 chart.   The singer-songwriter sold another 137-thousand copies of her album, 21, bringing her domestic total to just under 1.85-million.   If she keeps this up she should hit double-platinum in the next week or two!

DIDDY TO BE HONORED BY ASCAP

We’ve just learned Sean “Diddy” Combs will be honored with the coveted Founders Award during the 24th Annual ASCAP Rhythm and Soul Music Awards. Puff said a statement, “To be recognized for my contributions to music by ASCAP, an organization that represents music creators, is a true honor,” He added that all he ever wanted to was to “make people dance and hopefully inspire others to never settle for anything but their best.” The event takes place on June 24th at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles, California.      
DIDDY-DIRTY MONEY RELEASES NEW VIDEO

Diddy-Dirty Money are rolling out another single from their latest album, Last Train to Paris. The group selected and shot the video for “Looking for Love,” which features Usher. Fans can now check out the video of the Colin Tilley-directed clip on YouTube.

KELLY ROWLAND JOINS U-K’S X FACTOR

We’ve just learned that Kelly Rowland has been confirmed as a judge on the upcoming season of the U-K’s X Factor. The “Motivations” singer said of the music competition, “The X Factor is an amazing show. I love Simon [Cowell] because he’s so honest. Everything he says I agree with.” In related news, Rowland is currently working on her next studio effort, Here I Am.

50 CENT COMPLETES NEXT ALBUM?

During an interview on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, 50 Cent spilled some good news about the status of his upcoming album. The mogul, who performed with Nicole Scherzinger, stated, “I finished my new album now. I’m actually one song away from being done. I’m mixing the record. I’m excited.” In addition, Fif promised fans that they will hear new music later this summer.

BEYONCE RESPONDS TO COPYING AT BILLBOARD AWARDS

It’s hard to believe anyone had any complaints about Beyonce’s performance of “Run the World (Girls)” at Sunday’s Billboard Music Awards, but the diva did receive criticism for copying Italian singer Lorella Cuccarini. Bey explained it to AOL Music, saying, “My makeup artist showed me the performance of Lorella Cuccarini a year ago, and it inspired me so much.” She added, “I then met with the talented people who worked on it. The technology and concept were so genius. Thank God for YouTube or I would have never been exposed to something so inspiring. I never worked so hard on anything in my life as that performance for the Billboard Awards.” In related news, Bey’s highly anticipated album, 4, drops on June 28th.

KANYE SIGNS ON FOR HEINEKEN RED STAR ACCESS TOUR

Need a good concert series to check out next month? Heineken’s Red Star Access tour has teamed with Kanye West’s G.O.O.D. Music to kick off an 18-city outing beginning on June 9th in New York City. While tour dates are yet to be announced, fans can expect the show to hit major markets including Miami, Chicago, DC, Philadelphia, New Orleans, Atlanta, Houston, and Detroit.

SELF MADE ALBUM PREDICTIONS

According to HitsDailyDouble.com, the estimated sales for Maybach Music Group’s latest album, Self Made Vol. 1, is expected to be anywhere between 50 to 55-thousand units during its opening week. It’s unlikely that the disc will claim the number one spot on the Billboard 200 chart as Lady Gaga’s Born This Way is projected to sell over 900-thousand next week. The final sales figures will be available on Wednesday.

LADY A TURN DOWN GLEE STAR’S REQUEST TO JOIN GROUP

Lady Antebellum brought home the Country Song of the Year Award for “Need You Now” at the 2011 Billboard Awards this past weekend. At the event, the trio reportedly ran into Glee actor Matthew Morrison, who asked them if he could join the band as their fourth member. Lady A’s Charles Kelley told E! Online he turned him down, jokingly saying, “We don’t like to share the spotlight. We’ve got enough dudes in this group!” Hillary Scott agrees, saying that the group has formed a bond beyond success and winning awards (See Related Cut #6). JEWEL INSPIRED TO CREATE NEW KIDS ALBUM

Jewel announced this past January that she and her husband, rodeo-star Ty Murray, are expecting their first child. The singer-songwriter is now eight-months pregnant with the baby boy and she said the experience has inspired her to write songs for a new children’s album. The project, The Merry Goes Round, will be released this fall. In the meantime, Jewel is getting ready for the May 30th launch of her new Bravo songwriting competition series, Platinum Hit.

ROB THOMAS IS A TOP SONGWRITER

Rob Thomas has something to be proud of.   The matchbox twenty frontman was named as the fifth best Hot 100 songwriter of the past decade by Billboard.   Their reasoning included his solo work, his writing with his band, and of course, his collaboration with Carlos Santana on the smash hit “Smooth.”   Finishing ahead of him were Max Martin, Pharrell, Dr. Luke and Timbaland.

DRAKE ANNOUNCES OVO FESTIVAL LINE-UP

Drake has announced that Rick Ross and The Weeknd will join him for the second annual OVO Festival later this summer. The concert event will take place in Toronto at the Molson Amphitheater on July 31st. If you’ll be in the area, visit Ticketmaster.com on June 3rd to score passes.

BARRY GIBB-MICHAEL JACKSON COLLABORATION ONLINE

Back in 2002, Bee Gees singer Barry Gibb recorded an unreleased song with Michael Jackson and he’s just uploaded a 30-second video of their time in the studio writing and recording the track, which is called “All In Your Name.”   Gibb wrote that he and Michael were “the dearest of friends” and that “he was the easiest person to write with.”   Barry added that the song is “the message that Michael wanted to send out to all of his fans all over the world that he did it all for them and for the pure love of music.”   Gibb hopes the full song will be released at some point but you can hear the snippet now at BarryGibb.com.
