LOOK OUT VEGAS…HERE COMES ROBERT LARRABEE

Ah!!, the smooth sound of Robert Larrabee!!. His “This Ones for the Ladies” is sexy and sweet and done with the class of Frank Sinatra or Tony Bennett.  Beyond his rich soothing voice is humor and talent that makes him a sought after Corporate performer from his home base in Medicine Hat Alberta, Canada to the USA, to London, to Sydney and beyond.

Robert has been an Actor in Dinner Theaters, a Singer in bar bands and a Corporate Entertainer for over twenty years. He also writes, produces and promotes his one man act.  He has released his first Nashville Pop Jazz album “Always Together”.  He likes to describe his music as, “a cross between jazz, pop and R&B” and says he writes romantic songs that are about his own life experiences and are full of love and joy.  The horn and string arrangements are by Chris McDonald and the back up vocals by Wynonna Judd and Peter Catera’s background singers.

You use humor as well as music to entertain……which part of your act is your favorite?

RL: I love to sing that’s for sure but I also enjoy the the banter with audience and involving them in my show, it makes it more personal, if I had to pick a favorite I guess it would be singing to them.

Who were your musical inspirations?

RL: My musical inspirations were guys like Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Elvis, Louis Armstrong, Judy Garland, Michael Buble, Elton John, Tom Jones, Neil Diamond. I liked the old school entertainers because they could act, sing, do a little shtick and keep the audience entertained on multiple levels, and the wardrobe was great.

Are there other people who travel with you who are part of your performance?

RL: At the moment I travel with one sound and lighting tech it’s a one man show, I am looking forward to hiring a band and touring once my CD “Always Together” has been promoted to radio, and that is happening at present.

What do you want people to get out of your performances?

RL: I want people to be happy at my shows, I love seeing people laugh, and clap to the music, I love filling the room with a nice warm good feeling, a moment of love shared by all. Why not there’s enough negative in the world, when you come to my show it’s my job to help you and I forget about the world outside and get just lost in all the good vibes inside.

Do you have any plans for a new cd or dvd?

RL: I have a CD out Called “Always Together” it was released in August of this year, it’s pop jazz, swing, some blues and some straight ahead AC stuff, all done with beautiful string and horn arrangements not to mention great back up vocals. The Album was recorded in Nashville and has all the best studio musicians performing on it, it’s just a great project if you like music with lots of instruments and great classic beats. I have also just finished the first video for track #3 three This ones for The Ladies, its on you tube.

 

What would you like to be doing 5 years from now?

RL: Five years from now I would like to be touring the entire globe performing in at least three to four thousand seat rooms, with a great swinging band, with an awesome horn and string section, just knocking them out every night! Then Vegas baby!
