As the release date of their Mercury Records debut album LOSING SLEEP approaches on May 19th, Parachute moves into a final week of college dates and gear up for their spring tour with O.A.R.
Parachute’s tour schedule, kicked off the first at South By Southwest (SXSW) Music & Media Conference in Austin, Texas, where they were included in the IFC Channel’s SXSW Behind the Badge half-hour special throughout April highlighting them as one of the best of 2009’s showcases.

GREEN DAY ANNOUNCES VENUES FOR UPCOMING SUMMER TOUR

Reprise Records’ Green Day has announced the venues for their first proper tour of the United States and Canada in more than three years. The tour begins July 3rd at Seattle’s Key Arena and will cross North America through the summer, including a July 27th stop at New York City’s Madison Square Garden, before finishing up with a show at the Forum in Los Angeles on August 25th. All cities and venues are listed below. Ticket on-sale dates will be announced soon.

EMI Music’s Virgin Records is pleased to announce that it has signed a new worldwide deal with Los Angeles rock band 30 Seconds to Mars.
30 Seconds to Mars, fronted by vocalist, guitarist, and songwriter Jared Leto, is currently in the studio in Los Angeles recording their third album with acclaimed producer Flood, known for his work with U2, Nine Inch Nails, Depeche Mode, and Smashing Pumpkins. Due this fall, the as-yet-untitled album is the follow-up to 2005’s platinum-selling A Beautiful Life, which sold more than three million albums and singles worldwide and spawned two Top 10 Modern Rock singles, “From Yesterday” and “The Kill.” The latter set a radio record for the longest-running hit in the history of Modern Rock radio play when it remained on the national airplay chart for more than 50 weeks following its No. 3 peak in 2006. “From Yesterday” was the band’s first No. 1 at the format. NASCAR Media Group and Virgin Records rock quartet Saving Abel announced today that the music video for the band’s third single from their gold certified self-titled debut album will debut exclusively on Yahoo! on Thursday, April 30th.
The NASCAR-themed video for “Drowning (Face Down)” stars NASCAR Sprint Cup Series driver Jeremy Mayfield as an aspiring racer who makes great sacrifices for a chance to compete at the highest level. The driver has no sponsor and no endorsement deals, but pushes forward through all obstacles in pursuit of his racing dreams.
