STEVEN ADLER TALKS ABOUT HIS RELAPSE

July 29, 2008

After his arrest on drug charges and an outstanding warrant, former Guns N’ Roses drummer Steven Adler headed to court last Friday, speaking to paparazzi on the way.  He told one cameraman, “I’m feeling much better.  I made a recent mistake.  I had a relapse after 37 days.  I just wanna take care of this and move on.”  At the time, Adler was already seven days sober and went on to say, “I wanna keep the sobriety going and keep my health going.  I’m just glad I’ve got my friends behind me.  I’ve got Slash behind me, Duff, Izzy, Axl behind me.  I’ve got their prayers.”  After the hearing, the rocker’s attorney told reporters that as yet Steven hasn’t been charged with a crime.  Adler added, “The bottom line is, I made a mistake, I relapsed.  You’ve gotta pay for your mistakes, and I’m paying for it.”  The drummer went on to advise younger musicians struggling with addiction to have someone videotape them so they can watch it when they’re sober.  To see the footage of it all, head to www.X17Video.com.

GAME SAYS LEAKED TRACK IS NOT DISSING EMINEM

July 29, 2008

It turns out the Game wasn’t dissing Eminem on a leaked track. When a version of “My Life” hit the Internet last week, listeners may have thought that some of the lyrics were a shot at Em. But the Game told MTV News via a statement that he meant no ill will, he was just looking back on the events of his life that changed them. And because Proof died, he has bad memories of Detroit and that’s what he meant by the lyrics. The confusing verses have been removed from “My Life.” The new version will appear on L.A.X. which will be out August 26th.

July 29, 2008

How does Flyleaf feel about their success? We’ll let bassist Pat Seals gush.

“I wouldn’t of dreamed to be in a band period. Everything that we’ve been given is like experientially great. For the record to be doing as well as it has. Being able to keep going on the road when other bands are having to go back and start a second cycle is a gift.”

Flyleaf will be playing Gilford, New Hampshire on Friday.
