SLASH CELEBRATES HIS 43RD B-DAY WITH BIG NAMES

July 25, 2008

This week, Slash celebrated his 43rd birthday with a huge concert at The Mirage’s Bare pool lounge in Las Vegas.  During the 90-minute set, the famed guitarist performed with Fergie, Perry Farrell of Jane’s Addiction, ZZ Top’s Billy Gibbons, Tom Morello of Rage Against the Machine, Alice in Chains’ Jerry Cantrell, Black Eyed Pea will.i.am and many others.  Slash played some Guns N’ Roses hits, like “Sweet Child O’ Mine” with Fergie, and even did covers, like his rendition of Stevie Wonder’s “Superstition” with Perry Farrell.  Other songs included Pink Floyd’s “Wish You Were Here,” “Knockin’ On Heaven’s Door” by Bob Dylan and later GN’R, Led Zeppelin’s “Whole Lotta Love,” Heart’s “Barracuda” and much more.  Of course, what b-day party is complete without cake?  Slash’s wife, Perla Hudson, presented her man with a giant pastry in the form of a guitar, decorated with one of the rocker’s trademark top hats.
