ROLLINS TOUR DATES HERE
July 15, 2008
As the Bush era winds down, HENRY ROLLINS is gearing up to hit the road with an eye to the future and a disapproving nod to the past. HENRY’s latest talking tour, dubbed RECOUNTDOWN, kicks off September 19 in Berkeley, CA and continues past Election Day. Tickets for the tour go on sale July 17 and July 18, with pre-sales starting on Monday, July 14 at 10 a.m. Fans who purchase tickets early will automatically be entered to win an autographed HENRY ROLLINS prize package.
“Hoping that the bad times are almost over, I am taking advantage of the current situation to spend the last few nights of the catastrophic Bush administration onstage,” HENRY says of the RECOUNTDOWN tour. “Things will be so different after he’s gone. For me, the new century will have finally arrived. Since I was last in the cities that I will be visiting on this tour, I have been fairly far and wide and have a lot of new stories to tell. I look forward to spending autumn in my favorite country.”

In “Thighbone” featuring Zion I, Ise Lyfe applauds his girl for being “big in more than one way” and “not like the typical girl from the video.” In this dirty but smart ballad Ise describes his lady over a bare-bones beat, peppered with sirens and claps.

BEEF: POISON VS. DEF LEPPARD
July 15, 2008
Bret Michaels and Joe Elliott have been exchanging words of late. According to Blabbermouth.net, the Def Leppard man made a comment last month in Sweden that bands like Poison and Motley Crue paid more attention to their image than their music in the ‘80s. Michaels, after hearing the characterization, denied it and then added his own two cents, “First of all, that band [DEF LEPPARD] shouldn’t be knocking anyone about their music since they just did a show called Dancing with the Stars in the U-S and they got crucified because they f***ing lip-synched the entire show, so before they bust anyone’s balls, I’ve never lip-synched a f***ing thing in my life — ever!”
QUOTED: LINKIN PARK TALKS PROJEKT REV
July 15, 2008
The Projekt Revolution Tour gets underway tomorrow night in Boston. How does the trek differ from the rest of the summer tours? Since Linkin Park are headlining we put the question to Mike Shinoda.
“You know, this is obviously not an Oz Fest, it’s not a Vans Warped Tour. Some of the bands on this tour have played those bills but I think that there’s definitely a certain niche that we feel this tour fulfills and a lot of our fans seem to agree.”
The Bravery, 10 Years, Chris Cornell and more will rock the Project Revolution Tour this summer. Check out ProjektRevolution.com for details.
QUOTED: THE EXTREME FLOBOTS
July 15, 2008
The Flobots have gone from zero to 60 in a very short period of time, their song “Handlebars” is blowing up on the radio. Bandmember Johnny 5 talked to MTV News about their recent popularity boost.
“You know, we’re been a band for three years and we’ve just been performing locally and then to suddenly have a song that everyone in the country is hearing and this chorus that seems to be stuck in everyone’s head is pretty incredible.”
The Flobots play Seattle, Washington tomorrow.
