Black Eyed Peas rapper will.i.am is on a roll. Not only is he making his feature-film debut in X-Men Origins: Wolverine, but he’ll also be voicing a character alongside Ben Stiller, Sacha Baron Cohen and Chris Rock in the upcoming animated film, Madagascar 2. Wolverine will hit theaters in 2009, while Madagascar 2 will be out later in the year.

The word is out that Velvet Revolver is looking for a new singer after they parted ways with Scott Weiland, and the Internet as well as the band are getting inundated with audition tapes. Potential replacements are uploading clips to YouTube and MTV.com with the hopes that VR will stumble across it. While no one has heard back from the group, according to Blabbermouth.net, the band has listened to some hopefuls sent in through e-mail. Meanwhile, Idolator.com reports that Velvet Revolver is in talks with an unnamed Australian singer for the job. There have also been rumors that Linkin Park’s Chester Bennington was in the running. One thing that is known is that the band won’t turn to reality television to find a singer. They declined offers to do so.

50 Cent is pretty upset with Taco Bell. The fast food chain announced last week that they wanted 50 to change his name for one day to either 79, 89 or 99 cent like their new value menu and rap an order using his new name. Taco Bell would then give ten-thousand dollars to charity. But 50’s reps told OK Magazine that the whole thing was, “a sleazy and ill-conceived publicity stunt by Taco Bell’s president, Greg Creed, whose disingenuous offer was leaked to the press before it was even presented to 50 Cent’s agent.” 50 added, “When my legal team is finished with them, Taco Bell is going to have a new corporate slogan: ‘We messed with the bull and got the horns!’”

Singer Cassie is best known for her 2006 hit “Me & U,” but that soon may change. We’ve previously reported that her sophomore album should hit stores by September and that her first single is called “Official Girl.” But MTV News has just learned that Lil Wayne, the man who last week sold over one-million copies of his latest album, will also be on the track and appear in the video. The CD will also feature production by Diddy, Kanye West and many more.

Mike Myers’ most recent comedy creation, The Love Guru, also stars Justin Timberlake as “Jacques Grande,” an over-the-top French-Canadian hockey goalie. Timberlake told us this film is in the same vein as Myers’ other work.
“I find it interesting that Mike has carved out his own genre of comedy. It’s hard enough to do a comedy that works, but Mike has created his own genre. I’ve noticed that people going into this movie are, they’re willing to accept the ride that they’re being given because it’s Mike.”
Timberlake went on to describe the appeal of Myers’ film career.
“Because he has created that stage for himself with the Austin Powers and the, you know, the Wayne’s World, and the, these crazy worlds that he puts his audience in. I think people like to go and check out for a second and, you know, laugh their butts off.”
