Featuring Adam Tymn of VAUX and members of Arkham and Places To Park, Ride The Boogie is set to release their self-titled LP on Tuesday, June 17, 2008. Tymn took the time to give some insight on the track “Mustache Riders” and the struggles of being both an artist and a parent.
“Mustache Riders”:
Jimmy Lloyd - Jimmy Lloyd
June 5, 2008
Jimmy Lloyd is one cool guy. One look at his CD art picture and you can tell that this man is deep, mysterious, and original. Jimmy was born and raised in Texas but resides now in New York City. You may have seen him perform at various clubs in NYC and New Jersey like CBGB, The Lion’s Dem and Maxwell’s.
The cool thing about the actual CD is that it looks like a record. I thought that was a nice throwback to the days of the record.
Immediately upon putting on this CD you know that Jimmy Lloyd is an artist who creates music that allow the listener to enter his world and his point of view. Even by looking at the song titles you know this guy is badass. He has one song called, “Cop Bar” and another called, “Your Mother’s Boyfriend.” That is cool shit!
The sound quality on the CD is excellent. Every song sounds just as good as the rest but track 7, “Our Love Is Like” just draws the listener in. His voice, anger, & emotion pour from the speakers.
Jimmy Lloyd is deep and is not afraid to take on tough subjects. Actually, I think he enjoys them. His songwriting is so real and personal that you can totally understand what he is going through. Two songs that caught me in regards to songwriting were, “Your Mother’s Boyfriend” and “My Baby’s Mother.” Obviously two subjects that can conjure up mixed emotions. “Your Mother’s Boyfriend” left me angry and wanting to confront this unknown man.
There are two tracks on this CD that I feel are hits. The first is the CD opener, ‘Maybe.” This song just flows and sounds great. It also shows Jimmy’s vocal range. This song shows that Jimmy Lloyd knows how to write a solid hook. The second hit on this CD I feel was track 4, “Siddartha In A Chevy.” I think Jimmy takes it back to TX & NYC on this track. That is a great song, no doubt about it!
Jimmy Lloyd’s fans should be very pleased with this album. He is a real artist that is doing it for the love of music and as an outlet to express himself. He is probably one of the realest artists out today.

QUOTED: THREE DAYS GRACE TO BECOME A TRUE FAN
June 5, 2008
It’s the nature of the beast, that when you get popular as a band, you also garner a lot of fans. Three Days Grace frontman Adam Gontier says that he can always tell who the authentic lovers of his music are, versus the posers who just want a story to tell later.
“When you’re meeting people, you can tell right away. If you meet someone that pretends they’re a fan or they think they are or they act like they are, you can pretty much tell right away. I mean the true fans, you know who they are. Actually, for the Internet and stuff, we tend to check our MySpace and our Web site all the time and keep in contact with our fans that way. As for people that pretend they’re your fans, you can pick them out pretty quickly.”
Three Days Grace will be playing the Virgin Canada Festival on June 21st.
QUOTED: JOAN JETT NOT FEELING BRITNEY
June 5, 2008
Did you know Britney Spears does a cover of Joan Jett’s song “I Love Rock ‘N’ Roll?” Well, Jett knew of the starlet’s version, but has never listened to it.
She told TheLipster.com, “I’ve never heard Britney’s version. I mean, I’ve obviously heard about it, but I never understood the whole idea.” The rocker explained, “I mean, people usually cover a song that says something about them, but I doubt she loves rock ‘n’ roll. Maybe she likes songs.” Jett will show her love of rock and roll when she plays Fairfax, Virginia on Saturday.
QUOTED: KATY PERRY SURVIVED
June 5, 2008
Katy Perry’s album, One of the Boys, hits stores June 17th. Even though she’s only 23, the singer-songwriter has been in the music game for a long time. She told us a little about her story.
“I was on major labels, I was signed, I was dropped. I had it all, I lost it all. I should have gone home, I should have packed my bags like, you know American Idol peaced-out, but I did not jump off the Hollywood sign, I did not quit and I have a record coming June 17th.”
Katy Perry’s current single is called “I Kissed a Girl” and as she said, her album, One Of The Boys, hits stores on June 17th. Perry also heads out on the Warped Tour starting on June 20th.
