MAROON 5 ON THE ROAD THIS SUMMER
May 27, 2008
Maroon 5 wrapped up the first leg of their U-S tour behind It Won’t Be Soon Before Long and then went overseas to play some shows. When we caught up with frontman Adam Levine, he told us that the band is going to have another go around here in the states.
“Yeah, we’re going to come back over the summer and do a shed tour, play outdoors. It’s going to be amazing. There’s nothing I love more than an outdoor summer tour in the States.”
They’ll be hitting the road with Sara Bareilles and Counting Crows. The tour kicks off July 25th in Virgina Beach.
NEW KONVICT ROLLS WITH AKON
May 27, 2008
Colby O’Donis has been making music with top producers since he was nine. Yeah, nine! All those years of work must have paid off because Akon signed the young singer to his Konvict label. The now 19-year-old has released his first single, “What You Got,” which features Akon. Colby told us how the song was recorded.
“Actually, you know what’s funny cause we recorded that in Canada on a tour bus. After one of the shows we were headed to the next venue and we literally made that on the highway. Yeah, on the studio bus ‘cause he has an amazing studio bus. So you know we recorded that on the bus, made the beat and everything.”
Talk about taking it on the road. To check out the single, head to his MySpace, www.MySpace.com/ColbyO.
ONEREPUBLIC’S FRONTMAN DIGS SOUL AND R&B
May 27, 2008
OneRepublic’s second single, “Stop and Stare,” is number 22 on this week’s Billboard chart. Timbaland’s remix of their first smash single, “Apologize,” was of course a number one hit. A lot of artists tend to find inspiration for their songs through their musical influences. Frontman Ryan Tedder told us his.
“As far as American stuff, I’m probably the only person in the group that grew up listening to soul and R&B, so I’m definitely influenced by everything from Stevie Wonder to old Brian McKnight records.”
OneRepublic will be playing Chicago, Illinois on June 7th.
