SLASH BORROWS CASH FROM THE PAPARAZZI
May 10, 2008
TMZ has posted some video of Slash interacting with the paparazzi. The famed guitarist didn’t have enough cash on him to pay the cashier at a parking garage, but thankfully, one of the shutterbugs snapping his picture lent him some cash. Slash told the photog that he owed him one, but all the good Samaritan asked for in return was a handshake. As the rocker got into his Aston Martin to drive off, he answered the paparazzi’s questions. When asked for his thoughts on former Velvet Revolver bandmate Scott Weiland doing jailtime for a DUI, Slash said, “At least they’re not putting him away for a long time. He knew it was coming.” Before rolling out of the garage, Slash thanked his fans and revealed he has a lot coming up in the next six months that he hopes they will like.
DMX NEEDS CELEB REHAB WITH DR DREW
May 10, 2008
Just days after being arrested for speeding, DMX was sporting silver handcuffs once again. This time, it was for seven misdemeanor counts of animal cruelty and four felony drug possession charges. According to TMZ, the arrest came after police were searching the rapper’s Arizona home early Friday morning and found more than they’d bargained for. Authorities discovered a number of weapons and drugs, as well as five pit bull puppies. According to a sheriff, DMX attempted to barricade himself in his bedroom at the time of the search warrant, but eventually came out. He offered no further resistance and was booked.
SNOOP HOPES TO WORK WITH DR. DRE
May 10, 2008
Some things just go together like peanut butter and jelly and one of those things is Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre. And while Snoop is promoting his latest album, he spoke with us about the possibility of working with Dre on his highly anticipated album Detox.
“You know Dr. Dre’s working on his Detox album for the seventeenth year. So I don’t know what they’re doing, if they’re gonna break away and find some time to get with me. But that’s my big homie, my godfather, my everything when it comes to this music thing. So hopefully he’ll put something together for me and him to get down on.”
Snoop’s album, Ego Trippin’, has sold over 291-thousand copies since its release.
BUCKCHERRY START RECORDING
May 10, 2008
Buckcherry are finally in the studio and recording the follow up to 15, and Keith Nelson is blogging about it. The guitarist hit up the band’s MySpace page to let fans know that the boys have a slew of songs to record and the problem will be deciding what to leave off the new album. He even jokes that maybe they’ll name the record 21 because they should spend a little more time recording it than they did 15, which, appropriately enough, took 15 days to lay down. Keith then comments, “But, part of what made that record so much fun is we just captured the raw essence of the band without over-thinking the recording process, and that’s exactly how we’re making this one.” To read the entire post, hit up www.MySpace.com/Buckcherry. The group will head out on Cruefest on July 1st in West Palm Beach, Florida.
