BEYONCE JOINED JAY-Z ON STAGE
May 6, 2008
Beyonce joined her “hubby” onstage during his solo set at Madison Square Garden on Friday. MTV News reports at one point during his concert, Jay-Z sat in the DJ booth and pushed buttons to cue up instrumentals of classics like “Money Ain’t a Thang,” “Who You Wit” and “Hard Knock Life.” “F— that,” Jay yelled every time he played a song, cutting it off within seconds of bringing it up. Humorously, he started ” ‘03 Bonnie & Clyde” and just like before, he stopped it after a second. “F— that,” he said with a grin. Then Hov pulled up Beyoncé’s “Crazy in Love” and, you guessed it, said, “F— that too. … No disrespect.” Almost immediately, Beyoncé came onstage, walking with a “how dare you” strut. Jay started “Crazy in Love” again, and B did her crowd-pleasing “uh oh” dance. She walked over to Jay, did a spin, smiled and went backstage. Jay doubled over laughing.
PATRICK STUMP WORKS ON MYSTERY ALBUM
May 6, 2008
Fall Out Boy singer Patrick Stump is working on a top secret project. He writes on PatrickStump.com, “I’m working on a record but I can’t say what it is. And the funny thing is I have a long history of working on records and not ever being utilized. So I don’t want to jinx it. Suffice to say I’m rather excited about this particular album yet have already resigned myself to the probability of the songs I wrote won’t make it to final release. Oh Patrick Stump, you pessimist.” We’ll keep you posted on the details.
AMY WINEHOUSE NOT READY TO MAKE MUSIC?
May 6, 2008
One man very close to singer Amy Winehouse is saying she may not be in any condition to be making music. According to TheSun.co.uk, Amy’s producer, Mark Ronson, said, “I’m not sure Amy is ready to work on music yet.” Amy and Mark were recently working on the “James Bond” theme song, but according to Ronson, they never finished it. A spokesperson for Amy had a different view, saying, “Mark presented a track to Amy, but she had other ideas about the direction it should take. We’re sure they will continue to make great music together.”
