JACK JOHNSON VOTING FOR OBAMA
April 29, 2008 | by Skope Staff
Jack Johnson headlined the first night of Coachella this past Friday and while there, he spoke with RollingStone.com about a variety of topics. He speculated that the next single from Sleep Through The Static could be “Hope” or perhaps the title track. He says he’ll probably take a year or two off before commencing work on album number six. And finally, as it’s an election year, the Hawaiian rocker weighed in on his favorite presidential candidate, “I’m definitely going to vote for Obama… Besides believing in what he has to say and feeling like he’s someone who really inspires when he talks, he’s also from Hawaii, so I’ve got a little extra soft spot in my heart for the Hawaii boy.”

Jack Johnson…. do you even know what Obama believes in? If you would, then you would not be saying such dumb comments…. you lost one fan buddy…. get some brains!!!

Brian, why are you picking musicians based upon their political views? 90% of entertainers are liberal in ideology, so I think you’ll have slim pickings when you use that criteria when choosing musicians. I think you’ll be left with Ted Nugent and a bunch of country singers
Just thought I would comment. We have hope finally. And so does Mr. Johnson, you can hear it in his songs.
I really like Jack’s music, but I have to say that I am SO DISAPPOINTED that he likes Obama. I am surprised that he is not more discerning. Obama is all wrong for America. We do need a hero, but I am certain that Obama is not it. He is racist and a socialist. He is appointing people who have agendas such as “fairing things up” and “balancing out america” He feels that blacks have been oppressed too long and he wants to make up for this. I lived in Africa for three years where “the status Quo” is considered the only way. The problem is the governments are the ONLY ones who have anything! Our government will be no different if this keeps up. I think “left” and “right” (no sides) need to stay out of our personal lives. I also morally feel that any abortion is murder. God knew us the moment we were conceived. I do not judge those who have made this choice, but a country who puts an OK stamp on abortion is sure to collapse. Jack, reconsider your candidate. You’re a smart guy and I respect your values. Don’t let us down.
